Donations

As you can imagine the cost of travel and accomodation to photograph cemeteries around the state is enourmous.  Living in Adelaide, and having now completed most cemeteries within a 100 klm radius, it now requires day trips or overnight stays to add to this resource.  Last financial year we travelled over 11,500 klms specifically to photograph cemeteries incurring a loss of over $6500.

In the months of August and October we travelled more than 5,500 klms to photograph cemeteries on the Eyre Peninsula and completed the districts of Kimba, Le Hunte, Elliston and Streaky Bay, Port Lincoln, Streaky Bay, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Cleve and Franklin Harbour in just ten days.

Many weeks are then spent sitting at the computer, looking at each photo and renaming the files.  At present I have over 24,000 photos waiting to be renamed!!

For you to appreciate the time spent, visit your nearest cemetery, photograph 50 headstones and return home and rename them on your computer.  Multiply this time by 100 and this is about the time it takes to complete a Medim to Large cemetery.

Whilst the sale of the odd few disks goes towards offsetting some of these costs, it no where near covers the expenses incurred.

In the past six months I had 922 photographs requested for free through the Australian Cemeteries website together with numerous requests for futher information regarding individuals.    I try to accomodate people's requests as best that I can.
